Vickie Kimler
Vickie comes to us from volunteering at Friendship Circle's Soul Studio where she's been helping out with ceramics training of disabled artists for over a year. The Soul Studio has several yearly art sales and shows. Vickie and the lead facilitating art teacher's students have displayed and sold their pieces. Vickie's first ceramics training began in high school and she still has most of her pieces. Her academic background is in biology and neuroscience, and she received her PhD from Wayne State University in 1993. For most of her career, she has spent time teaching health science students and doing research on cells using an electron microscope, which employs strong hands-on skills that arts and crafts require. Vickie has enjoyed years of generating crafts, such as glass painting, candle making, oil painting and drawing.
