Join us for a fun and rewarding workshop where you'll learn to sew the popular Sew Together Bag! 

In this hands-on class, you'll learn:

• Reading and understanding basic sewing pattern and following directions: Cutting fabric, pinning, sewing straight seams, and finishing edges.
• How to construct the Bag: Following a clear pattern and instructions.
• Adding personal touches: Choosing your own fabrics and embellishments to create a unique bag.

No prior sewing experience is required! This class is suitable for beginners and those looking to refresh their sewing skills. We recommend anyone who has not sewn before come to a charity session to practice sewing straight seams prior to the start of the class.

Fabric Requirements:

• Exterior Fabric: 1 Fat Quarter or 1/2 yard of sturdy cotton, linen, or canvas. Choose a non-directional fabric with a good weight to hold its shape.
• Interior Fabric: 5 Fat Quarters or Scraps of lightweight cotton, quilting cotton, or a similar fabric. One must be light colored for the pocket interiors.
• Binding: 1 Fat Quarter
• Interfacing: 1 yard of fusible woven interfacing - this will be provided during class.
• Optional:
  • Embellishments: Buttons, rivets, or other decorative elements (optional).
• Notions: 3 zippers at least 9 inches long and 1 zipper at least 22 inches long - these will be provided during class.

What's Included:

• Pattern and instructions: Provided by the instructor.
• Use of sewing machines: Recommend students bring their own machine. Store machines can be provided in the classroom. If you need a store machine, please call us to reserve one.
• Guidance and support from the instructor throughout the class.
