Sew Together Bag Class

Join us for a fun and rewarding workshop where you'll learn to sew the popular Sew Together Bag! This versatile bag is perfect for carrying groceries, books, or anything else you need to transport.
In this hands-on class, you'll learn:
- Basic sewing techniques: Cutting fabric, pinning, sewing straight seams, and finishing edges.
- How to construct the Sew Together Bag: Following a clear pattern and instructions.
- Adding personal touches: Choosing your own fabrics and embellishments to create a unique bag.
No prior sewing experience is required! This class is suitable for beginners and those looking to refresh their sewing skills.
Fabric Requirements:
- Exterior Fabric: 1 Fat Quarter or 1/2 yard of sturdy cotton, linen, or canvas. Choose a non-directional fabric with a good weight to hold its shape.
- Interior Fabric: 5 Fat Quarters or Scraps of lightweight cotton, quilting cotton, or a similar fabric.
- Binding: 1 Fat Quarter
- Interfacing: 1 yard of fusible woven interfacing (for the bag bottom and straps).
- Optional:
- Webbing: 1 yard of 1-inch wide webbing for the straps (optional, handles can be made from fabric).
- Embellishments: Buttons, rivets, or other decorative elements (optional).
What's Included:
- Pattern and instructions: Provided by the instructor.
- Use of sewing machines: Recommend students bring their own machine. Store machines can be provided in the classroom. If you need a store machine, please call us to reserve one.
- Guidance and support from the instructor throughout the class.
