Want to learn something new? Want a two-sided table decoration? Need a quick host gift or last-minute housewarming?

Basic sewing knowledge is necessary. Students should be able to use their machine and sew a straight seam. Class intended for students age 15 and older. Table runners or placemats will be completed during class hours, but if wanting to complete both projects there will be some work to do outside of class periods.

Students must bring the following to the first class:
Tablerunner:

1. 1/2 jelly roll or 20 strips of fabric 2.5in wide by width of fabric
2. 5/8yd (or 22in x 36in) of low loft batting like Warm & Natural
3. Backing fabric (only need one of the following):
   1. 5/8 yard if not directional
   2. 1 yd 1f directional

Finished table runner is approximately 18in x 36in.

Placemats (4):

1. Fabric strips (only need one of the following):
   
   1. If placemats are not exactly the same: 1/2 jelly roll or 20 strips of fabric 2.5in wide by width of fabric
   2. If placemats are exactly the same: 1 jelly roll or 40 strips of fabric 2.5in wide by width of fabric
2. 1yd (or 36in x 36in) of low loft batting like Warm & Natural
3. Backing fabric (only need one of the following):
   1. 1 yard if not directional
   2. 2 yd if directional

Finished placemats are approximately 18in x 14in each for four placemats.

Sewing machine, thread & bobbin, scissors, fabric marking tool, and any other notions student likes to use when sewing

Batting can be purchased at first class for $10 - please contact store to reserve prior to class: 248-266-1496.
Some jelly rolls and 2.5in strip sets available for purchase prior to class - supplies are limited.
Students are asked to come early to complete purchase of fabric and/or batting.

Requirements:	Tablerunner or placemats only require 1 jelly roll and 1/2 yard of backing fabric and 1/2 yard of batting. To do both projects, double all fabric and batting. Batting can be purchased at class for $10. Fabric can be purchased, but please come in at least one day early to get the fabric. Please bring your sewing machine or call to reserve one of the store's machines.
